LTC(R) David “Dave” Lucas is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of a venture-backed defense technology company currently in stealth and serves on the boards of several defense and veteran-focused organizations.
A 29-year U.S. Army Special Forces officer, Dave commanded at every level, including the Joint Task Force level, during the course of eleven overseas deployments.
After completing command of 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Dave was selected in the top 1% of Lieutenant Colonels for a rare second battalion command at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center & School at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was subsequently promoted to Colonel and oversaw the training and doctrine for the next generation of Green Berets until leaving command in 2025.
A recognized national security expert who has testified before Congress, Dave excels at leading multi-functional teams at the intersection of emerging technology, innovation, and strategy.
He holds a Bachelor’s in International Affairs from Florida State University and a Master’s of Strategic Security Studies from the National Defense University.
